Omni La Costa Resort & Spa is a 400-acre Spanish Mission-style resort in Carlsbad, celebrating 60 years as one of Southern California's most recognized resort destinations. The resort features over 500 guest rooms, suites and villas, two 18-hole championship golf courses, a full-service spa, multiple pools, dining, tennis and fitness facilities. La Costa has hosted 37 PGA Tour events, including the Tournament of Champions from 1969 to 1998, welcoming golf legends including Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods.
The North Course, formerly the Champions Course, was originally designed by Dick Wilson and opened in 1965. Following several modifications over the years, the course underwent a significant redesign led by renowned golf course architect Gil Hanse in 2024. The renovation refined playability and strategy while enhancing the course's natural setting, with six sets of tees, repositioned greens and a new practice facility designed by Beau Welling. The North Course is now the host venue for the men's and women's NCAA Division I Golf Championships through 2028 and was ranked #3 in Golf Digest's Best Renovations.
The South Course, formerly known as the Legends Course, offers a classic parkland setting with mature trees, gentle doglegs and the San Marcos Creek winding throughout the layout. The gently undulating course rewards accuracy off the tee, with a hilly front nine and flatter back nine. Holes 10 through 18 have also been part of the PGA Tour rotation.
Together, La Costa's two courses offer 36 holes of golf in Carlsbad, with the North Course providing a modern championship test and the South Course offering a more traditional parkland experience.
Our Carlsbad golf courses are open daily. Guests of the resort can book tee times 90-days in advance by calling the La Costa Golf Shop at (760) 931-7595.
Choose from Signature Golf or Signature Sport memberships. Signature Golf members get unlimited complimentary golf and all members receive access to spa, golf, tennis, athletic club, pools and kidtopia. In addition, all members can enjoy a full calendar of social events along with preferred pricing throughout The Club and resort and discounts at other Omni locations.
